Napa Auction 2010

by Editor on June 6, 2010

WOW! Rubbed elbows with wine collectors from all over the world this weekend at Napa auction 2010. There were a couple of lots I had my eye on, but within a few seconds they were WAAAAYYYY out of my price range. Very fun times though, as I got to meet Eric Stonestreet from Modern Family as well as many of my favorite winemakers. Also go to see some of my favorite wine makers again. I had a pass that wasn’t partial access, wasn’t mostly access. It was ALL access. No one stopped me from going anywhere I wanted to go, most importantly to the bathroom! One of those trips that makes me feel so lucky to have friends in high places! Thank you Marcus and Kathy! See ya soon!

You don't always see this on a wine list...

Napa, departure from Twitter

by Editor on June 3, 2010

Yes, I quit twitter. It took up too much of my precious time. After all, I’m fully working two hours a week at my radio show, Rock Chalk Sports Talk,(1320 am, or KLWN.com 4-6 central on thursday) and raising my kids. I’m busy!

Heading to Napa on Friday, the 4th. Looking forward to a great weekend and tasting (ok chugging) some fantastic wine. I would put a picture up right now, but I’m too busy packing. Here’s a thought for all you liberals that think all of our freedoms were and can be negotiated with words and not violence.
It’s the Military, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press.

It’s the Military, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.

It’s the Military, not the politicians that ensures our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

It’s the Military who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag.

I’m not a religious man, but god bless america, we need hope and faith now almost as much as we did when the Nazi’s threatened the world. Make no mistake, we are at war for our freedoms right now!

Facebook is gay

May 11, 2010

I think Facebook is gay. And by gay, I don’t mean any harm to homosexual people. If you’re offended by the random use of that term to describe something silly or lame, then you have too much free time, or you aren’t comfortable with your sexuality. But I digress. Facebook is myspace for adults. I [...]

Friday

April 30, 2010

It’s been a while since I’ve written anything on here.
First off. John Emerson, I did say that. And it was true. I think Cleveland signed me to sit on the bench and shut up. At the end of the year, I knew they didn’t want me back, I missed the post season physical, and team [...]

A minor procedure…

April 6, 2010

So I’m gonna be a little too personal. If you don’t wanna hear about my buttcrack, stop reading right now! I’ve had a little lump at the top of my buttcrack for a few years now. It was round, sometimes painful, and in the last year or so started to change shape, kind of like [...]

Back from Spring Break; bad news abounds

March 20, 2010

I should have known the minute we were delayed leaving Kansas City. Heading to Charlotte to spend the night, we were delayed two hours. It was raining in Charlotte. We arrived ok, a couple hours late. However, it seemed to put a chain of events in motion as follows:
The next morning as planned we were [...]

WWDCD? What Would Dave Chappelle Do?

January 28, 2010

While I was working out this morning (not because I care what I look like but because my life is so great I want to enjoy it forever!) sportscenter was on and I saw on the ticker that Gilbert Arenas has been suspended for the season.
I had to stop running. Not out of shock but [...]

Radio eo eo eo

January 26, 2010

So glad the Jayhawks beat the Tigers last night! Always good to win the border showdown. Went to West Franklin Middle school yesterday and spoke to the 6-12th graders. We shared some stories, had a few laughs. I told them to work hard in school or you wind up living in a van down by [...]

Archive for Thursday, January 7, 2010 Scot Topic: Jayhawk and NBA star Scot Pollard sounds off on everything from Twitter to Tiger

January 8, 2010

From LJWorld.com
He was one of Lawrence’s most flamboyant fixtures in the four years he played record-breaking basketball for Kansas University in the mid-’90s, then had a successful decade or so in the NBA, mixing it up with the greatest players on earth, but Scot Pollard came back to his old college stomping grounds last year [...]

Cold weather

January 7, 2010

It’s cold in the midwest. Or as Brick Tamland would say, the mideast! We are coming out of an ice age. That’s science. This planet constantly changes, I’m not arguing that. What I’m skeptical about is our impact on it.
Are we affecting our OWN environment? Possibly. If we over extend our reliance on natural resources, [...]
